Letter to Parents & Carers 3 June 2020

The Phased Re-Opening of Littlemoor from Monday 8th June

Dear Parents and Carers

We are pleased to be able to share our plans for re-opening which will begin on Monday 8th June.  Teachers have already spoken to all parents in Nursery, Reception and Year One and are now aware of who intends to return their child to school.  These parents will receive a confirmation email by Friday 5th June.

These children will remain in the same bubble (group) each day and the staffing will remain constant as far as is possible.

Please note that latecomers will not be admitted and children cannot be collected earlier than the designated departure time for your child if they are in the F1, F2 and Y1 bubbles.

The 2m social distancing rule will be in operation.  There will be posters reminding you of this and markers will be placed around entrances/exits and pinch points around school.  A one way system will also be in place.

Year One Children will attend from Monday 8th June.
The children will attend school from 8:45am until 12:45pm.  They will have their school lunch (this will be a packed lunch) and then return home.

The children will be split into 2 bubbles:

- Bubble A will occupy the two Y1 classrooms.
- Bubble B will occupy the two Y2 classrooms.

Key Worker Children
Children of key workers will now access childcare at Littlemoor rather than Campsmount.  This will be in the Old Nursery and will operate from 9am until 3pm.  Parents with children who have been accessing this provision at Campsmount will need to make a decision as to whether they would like their child to access school in the F2 and Y1 bubbles OR their normal emergency childcare place throughout the week.  It is not possible to access both. (This provision is available for all key worker parents, including those with children in Y2).  Any parents wishing to book a place in this provision, must now email admin@askernlittlemoor.doncaster.sch.uk by the close of school Thursday in order to secure a place for the following week, stating their occupation and employer.  A confirmation email will be sent to confirm your booking; please do not attend if this has not been received.

School Uniform
As previously stated, we would prefer your child to attend school in their uniform and would kindly request that this is washed daily.  If your child has grown out of his/her uniform, children may wear alternative appropriate clothes for school.  Please remember that these clothes must be suitable for creative and outdoor learning.
Social Distancing Outside Of School
Please note that we are unable to accept children who are not social distancing outside of school.

Childcare
It is important to remember that current guidelines state that your child may only use one form of childcare so if you need wrap around care for longer days than school provides, then your child should not be in school - they should only use private childcare providers.

Equipment
No other equipment apart from a sun hat may be brought into school.  Book bags cannot be brought into school for health and safety reasons.

Parents who wish to send children to school at a later date
Any F1, F2 and Y1 parents who decide that they would like their child to start attending school in future weeks must give school a week’s notice due to the limited staffing and space available in school.

Safe and Well Checks
The children who are not attending school will be contacted weekly by the Senior Leadership Team.

Home Learning
Y2 children will continue to receive their home learning via the school website and learning packs.

F1, F2 and Y1 children who are not attending school will be signposted to activities on the Home Learning section of the school website.

Y2 Transition Arrangements
We will keep you fully informed about the transition programme that we are putting in place with Spa Academy to ensure that the children achieve the best transition and support possible given the exceptional circumstances.

We hope that you have found this letter informative and are looking forward to welcoming some children back into school from Monday.

Please keep safe.

Kind regards,

Carol Ann Turner
