These are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy is committed to ensuring that all members of the school community are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.

The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations require schools to:
At Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child, family member, employee, governor and visitor is valued and respected.
We believe that all children should have equal access to opportunities that enable them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We celebrate diversity, promote respect and actively challenge discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping.
We are committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations across our school community. Our aim is to ensure that all members of our community feel safe, included and able to participate fully in school life regardless of their background, identity or individual circumstances.
The school will make reasonable adjustments for disabled pupils and prospective pupils to ensure they are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when compared with their peers. The school will review and implement its Accessibility Plan to improve access to the curriculum, physical environment and information.
Any incidents of discriminatory behaviour, prejudice-related bullying, harassment or victimisation will be taken seriously and addressed promptly in accordance with the school's Behaviour Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy and Safeguarding Procedures. Such incidents will be recorded, monitored and used to inform future preventative work and staff training.
We recognise and value the diversity within our school community and are committed to ensuring that all pupils develop an understanding of equality, respect and inclusion in preparation for life in modern Britain.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted through our curriculum, assemblies, enrichment opportunities and wider school activities, helping children to develop respect, understanding and appreciation of different people, cultures, beliefs and experiences.
Our Academy has an accessible site and buildings with the following:
We are committed to further improving the experiences of all pupils, staff, parents, carers and visitors, including those who share protected characteristics, through our Equality Objectives and Accessibility Plan.
Number of pupils on roll at the school: 151
Age of pupils: 3 to 7
The Equality Act 2010 protects people from discrimination on the basis of nine protected characteristics.
Every person has several of the protected characteristics, so the Act protects everyone against unfair treatment.
In order to ensure that all pupils are protected from discrimination, the school collects information on protected characteristics.
The school analyses information relating to attendance, attainment, progress, behaviour, participation, exclusions, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing to identify whether any groups of pupils are underachieving or facing barriers to participation. This information informs school improvement priorities and equality objectives
In addition to pupils with protected characteristics, we gather further information on the following groups of pupils:
Through rigorous tracking and monitoring of individuals and of all the groups of children, including progress and attainment, and by providing equal opportunities to access the curriculum and activities, we aim to ensure that any gap in attainment for pupils within any of the above different groups is removed, or at least remains less than the gap nationally.
Equality Objectives
We have set specific and measurable Equality Objectives to support the achievement of our equality duties.
Progress towards these objectives will be monitored annually by the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body, and the objectives will be reviewed and updated at least every four years.
