Admission Arrangements for 2025-2026

We are a member of Leger Education Trust.  The academy will follow the Admissions arrangements of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, as agreed in the Admissions Annex of Leger Education Trust's Funding Agreement.

Admissions and Pupil Services

Applications for admission to Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy must be made through Doncaster City Council in the first instance, as only Doncaster Council (the LA) is able to allocate a place in this academy. We update our available places with the Local Authority.

Children living in the Doncaster area will receive a letter from Doncaster City Council with their catchment area school on and details of how to apply online, ready for a September start if they have had their fourth birthday on or before 31 August.  The closing date for on-time applications is in January for a September start and we recommend you apply on time to try to secure your first choice school.  Posters are displayed in our School Reception with closing dates for applications.

Once a decision has been made by the Local Authority, parents and carers will receive a confirmation from them of the school at which a place for their child has been allocated. Schools will then be informed of allocated places and parents will receive a call from a senior member of staff or class teacher who will explain our school induction process and invite parents into school for a look round.

Mid-Year Transfers: Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy accepts transfers from outside the Doncaster area, subject to places being available during the academic year.  Parents with a child in another Doncaster School are also welcome to apply for a transfer to start at our school at the beginning of each term, (after Christmas and Easter) subject to places being available and a Doncaster transfer form being completed online and submitted to the Local Authority.

Further advice: Our office staff are happy to speak to you on 01302 701353 however cannot offer a place as only the Trust or Local Authority can agree places.  Please be aware if school is oversubscribed the Local Authority may hold a waiting list for places to become available.

Reception Admissions September 2025

You are now able to apply for:

• All Year Groups
• School Nursery Places (This includes Church Schools with a nursery)

School Year - 2026/27

You are now able to apply for:

• School Nursery Places (This includes Church Schools with a nursery)
• Secondary School Year 6 to Year 7 for September 2026
• Reception Year at Infant and Primary Schools for September 2026 
• Year 3 at Junior Schools for September 2026 

For Year of Entry School Applications Made Before The National Closing Dates

If you live in Doncaster - You must apply online using the Doncaster Council online application form. You can list up to three schools, including any outside of Doncaster. You should list them in your preferred order.

Although a place is not guaranteed at your catchment school, you should consider including this as one of your preferences even if it is not your first preference.

If you live outside Doncaster - You must apply through your home authority i.e. the area which you live. You can list the schools you wish to apply for, including any in Doncaster.

• All parents/carers must register before you can apply.
• You will not be able to log in to the Parent Portal using your MyDoncaster account details; the Parent Portal is separate and will require you to register before logging in however, you may still use the same e-mail address if you wish to do so.
• Take care completing your application - errors may affect our ability to download or process your application.

To begin your application

1. Click on the 'School Admissions' link below
2. Follow the instructions to create your account, including entering your email address and password.
3.  Click 'Confirm' to tell us that the information you have supplied is correct.
4. You will receive a verification email (please check your junk/spam mailbox) - click on the link provided and this will take you to the 'Log In' page.
5. Log in using your email address and password
6. Complete and submit your application.

When you complete and submit your application, you are also confirming that all other persons with parental responsibility have been contacted and have agreed to the transfer request and that, to the best of your knowledge, there are no applications before the courts by a parent, or someone claiming to be a parent etc. disputing the child's residence or which school they should attend.

Nursery Admissions

Normal Admission
Children are normally admitted in the September following their third birthday.

Early Admission
If there are sufficient places in a nursery, children may be admitted earlier as children can start nursery the term following their third birthday.

e.g. children born between: 

1st September and 31st December are eligible to start nursery in January 
1st January and 31st March are eligible to start nursery after Easter 
1st April and 31st August will start nursery in September

Admissions for September 2024 - July 2025 (Child's date of birth 01/09/2020 to 31/08/2021)

Nursery Admissions September 2025 - Closing Date -6 October 2024. Decisions will be emailed to parents in November 2024. 

If you haven't applied by the closing date you can still apply online, but you may risk not being allocated your first choice school.
