Welcome to our website which we very much hope will provide you with a range of useful information and a real insight into daily life at Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy.
Littlemoor is a special place to work in so many ways. Visitors to our school often comment on the welcoming atmosphere and the approachable, professional and committed staff. We are also very lucky to have dedicated and highly effective governors, supportive and caring parents and super children. We have excellent resources and facilities, which contribute to a high quality learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.
As a forward thinking school, we willingly embrace change and constantly strive to develop our practice.
Our team of dedicated teachers and support staff is committed to ensuring that all children achieve their full potential in an exciting and inclusive learning environment in which they feel safe, happy and secure. We are extremely proud of our children and the success they make.
We provide an education that covers all elements of the statutory curriculum as well as developing skills that will allow our children to be successful citizens. Personal development within the curriculum is a large factor in the work of our successful school. Alongside the delivery of a rigorous and varied academic education, producing well-rounded individuals is one of the most important aspects of a child’s education.
Within Leger Education Trust, personal development or character education is known as our Aspire Curriculum. Character education is about important life skills children need to learn for their spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. We work hard to develop character traits in our children such as: a positive attitude to learning, showing support to others, having persistence, integrity, resilience, and displaying effort- striving to be the best they can be.
We work hard to make sure that everybody feels welcome at Littlemoor. welcoming parents and carers into school each Friday for our ‘Achievement Assembly’ and holding regular events throughout the year such as reading workshops and curriculum days where parents can join their children to experience what school life is like at Littlemoor.
I have been part of the Littlemoor team since January 1998, being the Deputy Head Teacher before becoming the Head Teacher in 2012; a role which I am honoured to have and am so fortunate to be supported by a talented team of staff who put the children right at the heart of everything that we do. I am also the Executive Head Teacher of Askern Moss Road Infant Academy which is the other infant school in Askern and also part of Leger Education Trust.
Our school has six classes providing education for children from three to seven years.
In July 2022, we welcomed Ofsted into our school and were judged to be 'Good' in all areas; an achievement of which our team is extremely proud.
It is a real privilege to be the Executive Head Teacher at Littlemoor and to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful staff, parents and children.
